Have you ever felt like the news does not cater to you? You read an article & you cannot figure out what it means regarding your day-to-day life. For example, an article on retirement information may not be applicable to a college student that has not entered the workforce yet.

Often, news articles are about topics that we are far too distant from to understand. Even if we know this information is critical to our lives, we still may not know how to properly process it. For this project, we wanted to figure out the way to get just the information that matters to us. We want the information to be catered to us, provided in a clear and concise synopsis, and we wanted to be able to access the whole article if we wanted to learn more or fact check.

So . . . we decided to create a website that extracts only the information we need!

- How does it Work? -

First, we created a user interface via WixStudio that allows users to create an account, give us basic demographic information, and tell us what they want to hear news about.

We then used Gemini API's repository along with NewsAPI.org to search for information from various news sources to then output articles and article summaries.

We then structured the program to fetch articles that matched imputed demographics and interests, summarized the article using Gemini.
